Realove Consignment: What it is and how does it work?

If you’re looking for a seamless experience and a zero-hassle way to sell your pre-loved wardrobe, then our Consignment service is for you. Simply leave your item with us and let us take care of everything. To start, we need to physically assess an item to determine its resale value. To do that, we ask that you drop off your items at a designated Dove Cleaners location OR schedule a pick-up to have us collect the items from you.

From that point on, we will organize the sale every step of the way.

  • We will sort, inventory and pre-qualify your items
  • We will send you an offer detailing the proposed resale price of each item for your acceptance
  • We will manage the entire sales lifecycle, from expert photography of your items to shipping to cataloguing to sales to shipment to buyers
  • Once your items are sold, we will issue payment

Which items are accepted for consignment?

We accept a wide variety of new and gently used men’s, women’s and children’s authentic luxury apparel, footwear, handbags and accessories.

*To qualify for resale, all items must be authentic, in very good & clean condition and without alteration of any kind. 

How are my consignment items priced?

We work closely with our local and US-based resale platform partners to arrive at a competitive resale price for every item. These proposed List Prices are then presented to you for your approval.

How much will I earn?

Your earnings on a sale is based on the final selling price of your item and the deduction of our tiered commission, which is also calculated depending on the final selling price. Your consignment confirmation will contain a detailed breakdown of our tiered commission and estimated earnings.

How do I get paid?

When your items are sold, the buyer may have a limited return period of 30 days. If the buyer doesn’t return your item within this period and the item becomes "final sale", we will prepare a settlement statement for you outlining what the item sold for (after any discounts) and your earnings after deducting our commission. You will have the option of redeeming your earnings for a cheque that is mailed to you or you can choose to redeem all or any portion of your earnings for Dove Cleaners Dry Cleaning credit at a 50% bonus rate. You can use our credit at select Dove Cleaners locations for our Dove Valet pickup & delivery service.

What if my item doesn’t sell?

On rare occasions, some consignment items don’t sell but here are your options in this unlikely event. If your item has remained unsold for more than a year, we’ll return your item to you, free of charge. If you’d like your item returned before a year has passed, we will charge a fee to recover the costs associated with return shipping & processing.
